iC Tech Summer Day Camp

Ages 6-12. Co-ed.

We believe that students gain the most knowledge through hands-on and engaging experiences. Therefore all classes will allow students to see, learn and than try themselves.

Our Programs Offer 2 Streams:

  • Robotics and Engineering. For ages 6-9 and 10-12. Ratio 1:10.
  • Cartoon Maker, Game design. For ages 6-9 and 10-12. Ratio 1:10.

Children design, program, and test robots on special playing fields to see how well they work. It is a process very similar to the one applied by cutting-edge companies when they develop new  products. Children work in teams of two and are encouraged to try different strategies when designing and programming the robots. Through this approach they develop:

  • Team work and communication skills.
  • Problem solving and engineering skills.
  • An understanding of the fact that there is not one “correct” answer to a practical problem, but a number of possible solutions.

Why do bicycles have gears? What makes a pendulum swing? How do pulleys make heavy loads lighter? Build some machines of your own and discover what makes them work – from simple machines, cars, and Morse communicators to real rockets! Kids work in teams of two engineers to assemble, test and race motorized cars. Each car includes: an electromagnetic motor, battery power pack, circuits, gears, eye screws, wheels and more! Once assembled, each child gets to personalize their car with authentic race car stickers.

Students will learn using a wide variety of techniques and materials including role play activities, classroom technology, and most importantly real-life conversation, which is the most integral part of any class.

In addition, students will participate in one of two technology-based workshop streams: Robotics Engineering or Games and Apps Development. Working on these projects alongside local Canadian students will aid the development of linguistic and social skills in a team-based environment with their own peers.

After 4 pm, student’s exploration will continue. At this time, international students will participate in a variety of trips and activities based around some of Toronto (and Canada’s) most well-known and historical locations.
